Collective working – One week in North Wales.

“Collective ownership of the means of production”

Common, shared, joint, combined, mutual, communal, united, allied, cooperative, collaborative.

It has been a full on week of partnership and collective working with Sound Radio Wales,  Alzheimer’s Society CymruTorello Lounge, Prestatyn Dementia Friendly Community, The LoungesBetsi Cadwaladr Health BoardDyserth WI

Also preparing for the ProstateCymru  The Big Breakfast with CookHouse Prestatyn  on 27th November, and talking with new partners about new community projects.

Of course working collectively and with other organisations is nothing new to us at Artisans Collective.  The clue is in the name I guess.

The first instance new to us this week was working with our friends at Sound Radio Wales. Steve and myself spoke with Craig and Paul for 90 minutes about our community work and Prestatyn.

The second instance is with The Torello Lounge  a fab new cafe bar on Prestatyn High Street. I was privileged and honoured to attend the opening night.

Then to help organise a community group breakfast the following morning. For citizens that we engage with on a regular basis.

Later in the day we returned with Jo from Alzheimer’s Society Cymru on behalf of Prestatyn Dementia Friendly Community to deliver a Dementia Friends session to the front of house staff.

It was a pleasure to deliver and the feedback from the group since has been fantastic. Another great asset in Prestatyn.

Recognition of our collective voluntary community efforts.

On Friday afternoon I was again privileged to give a presentation to the Health Board and lots of other organisations including a representative of Welsh Government (more of that later).

Lots of interesting comments and observations from the group, all very positive which is fantastic.

To top a great week off we, including our great friend David Evans from Bangor University. Have been invited by the to give a presentation on Tuesday 27 November 2018, at Glyndwr University, Wrexham.

This is part of a government consultation regarding “Connected communities – Tackling loneliness and social isolation”

I am so proud that our collective efforts are being recognised at the highest levels.
